Dr. Shauna Mead
She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Caribbean and found another love: the ocean. While in veterinary school she was a leading member of PAWS (People for Animal Welfare on St. Kitts), which included being a foster to multiple dogs. After spending her last year of veterinary school at Cornell University, her fiance and multiple four-legged children ventured to San Diego. A year was spent at California Veterinary Specialists doing a rotating internship focused on small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency. Since completion of the internship in 2010 she has worked as an associate general practitioner and as an emergency clinician, as well as welcomed her first daughter into the world.
All areas of veterinary medicine are of interest; currently, she is focusing on strengthening her ability to perform ultrasounds. On days off she plans to help Dr. Hatt with spay/neuter release programs, surf, hike, and establish a home in beautiful Hawaii.

Dr. Marguerite Speelman
Aloha, I’m Dr. Marguerite Speelman! I grew up in Canada where I attended the University of Calgary for my bachelor of science in biology, and went on to earn my DVM from the Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon. The beautiful landscapes, climate, and culture drew me to Oahu. I am passionate about veterinary medicine as it allows me to use my skills to connect with the community and help to strengthen the human-animal bond. I enjoy all aspects of medicine, but am particularly interested in internal medicine, dermatology, wellness and preventative care. Outside of work I can be found exploring the island through hiking, snorkelling, scuba diving and other outdoor activities. I am eager to serve the Animal House community!
Dr. Tracey Mullins
But who am I outside of work? I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have 3 loveable furbabies! I have my goofball Lab, Odell, who is the biggest snugglebug I’ve ever met. I have my old lady Australian Shepherd, Maggie May, who was my husband and I’s first baby. And I have an anti-social black cat, Tekka Maki, who just really prefers you leave her be. My husband and I are passionate about traveling and do it as often as we can! I’ve been all over the world, and have wrapped our love of travel into one of my biggest personal goals – To run a marathon in every state! So far, I am 12 states in and the journey has taken me to some pretty phenomenal places that I may not have considered otherwise. When I am not traveling or running (Which admittedly is rare), I am hiking, biking, beaching, or exploring local craft breweries and wineries.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little bit. Pop on in and say hi! I love to get to know our clients! I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies!
Director of Medical Services
I have been in the Veterinary field for over 15 years and 13 of those years have been spent here with my Animal House Ohana. I also spend half of my time helping to manage Dr. Hatts other practice, Pawsh Place, in California. I have always been very passionate about providing the best care for our patients and their families. I enjoy being part of leading our staff every day and hope I can continue to motivate and inspire them even through the toughest of days.
My husband Lawrence, my American Stafford Terrier Meli, my cat Lovely, my geriatric dachshund Frankie, and the newest addition to my family (human version) Eli definitely fill my life with amazing moments! God bless!
I have two babies at home. One being my 11 year old Boxer, Solo and the other being my Red-Foot Tortoise, Opal! I recently grew a new fascination in reptiles and the care taking for them, which is why I wanted to get a tortoise!
My hobbies outside this field are painting, writing, traveling, and spending time with my family and boyfriend!
My name is Hannah, and I am from Melbourne, Florida. I have been in the veterinary field for about three years. I am finishing my undergrad at the University of Hawaii and hopefully going to veterinary school after. My hobbies are going to the beach, surfing, hiking, and traveling as much as I can.

Hi everyone! I’m Rachel. I’m originally from Colorado, but my husband is in the army and we were lucky enough to be stationed here in beautiful Oahu. I have two human kiddos and 3 fur babies who are loving the island life. When I’m not at work I enjoy hiking with my dogs and family, and water sports.
Hi there, My name is Christen. I just moved to Oahu after living in Maui for a year. I moved from Louisiana to Hawaii during the beginning of the pandemic. My boyfriend was a local of Maui, and we had been planning my move for over a year before the pandemic started. So nothing was going to stop me and my two fur babies Meeko and Rosie, from getting on that plane and starting our new life in Hawaii.
My boyfriend also had his own dog, Tank. Together we also adopted 3 guinea pigs. So we have quite the blended family! In Louisiana, I grew up around all different types of animals. Dogs, cats, salamanders, snakes, frogs, turtles, and I even helped raise and care for many types of birds. I’ve always loved animals, they are special in my heart, and I will always do whatever I can to help them and learn from them.
In my adulthood, I got a wonderful job as a home health caregiver in which I cared for an individual for many years. That experience will always be dear to my heart. It was a privilege and a true learning experience. When moving here, I noticed the abundance of opportunities to pursue my dreams of working with animals. I was never given the chance until now, and for that, I am truly grateful to be a part of The Animal House team.
Client Care Coordinator
Madi is originally from the island of Saipan, but has been living in Oahu for the past 13 years now. She joined the veterinary field 9 years ago as a kennel assistant, worked her way through reception and now is the Client Care Coordinator at Animal House. Working through all departments at a veterinary clinic she realized she’s most passionate about client relations, helping them through difficult times and building family relationships through one common interest, our pets! Outside of work you can find her running and doing marathons, enjoys doing make up and nails, reading, music, and doing outdoor activities.
