I’m passionate about enhancing our community! I enjoy being a member of local nonprofit groups, such as Soroptimist International, Church and Spay/Neuter Clinics. In addition, I also invest my time participating in events that help enrich our local community. I’m a dedicated pet care professional that publishes several free veterinary articles annually for pet families to enjoy! I’m passionate about coaching and public speaking and have presented on Podcasts and spoken at a variety of practice management events throughout the US and Canada. In my spare time, you can catch me running, hiking or traveling!
Join me on my journey as I continue to celebrate the wonder of the Human-Animal Bond! I hope you enjoyed learning a bit more about me and look forward to inspiring you in your pet parent adventures!

Dr. Shauna Mead
She attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in the Caribbean and found another love: the ocean. While in veterinary school she was a leading member of PAWS (People for Animal Welfare on St. Kitts), which included being a foster to multiple dogs. After spending her last year of veterinary school at Cornell University, her fiance and multiple four-legged children ventured to San Diego. A year was spent at California Veterinary Specialists doing a rotating internship focused on small animal medicine, surgery, and emergency. Since completion of the internship in 2010 she has worked as an associate general practitioner and as an emergency clinician, as well as welcomed her first daughter into the world.
All areas of veterinary medicine are of interest; currently, she is focusing on strengthening her ability to perform ultrasounds. On days off she plans to help Dr. Hatt with spay/neuter release programs, surf, hike, and establish a home in beautiful Hawaii.
Dr. Rachel Caballero
My fiancé is in the military which brings us to beautiful Oahu with our two dogs (Mike and Rambo). Our favorite hobbies include pretty much anything outdoors – swimming, snorkeling, scuba, hiking, running, bike riding, skiing, golfing. We also love laid back beach days, checking out new eateries and local craft brews!
Dr. Timothy Wood
But who am I outside of work? I am married to my high school sweetheart and we have 3 loveable furbabies! I have my goofball Lab, Odell, who is the biggest snugglebug I’ve ever met. I have my old lady Australian Shepherd, Maggie May, who was my husband and I’s first baby. And I have an anti-social black cat, Tekka Maki, who just really prefers you leave her be. My husband and I are passionate about traveling and do it as often as we can! I’ve been all over the world, and have wrapped our love of travel into one of my biggest personal goals – To run a marathon in every state! So far, I am 12 states in and the journey has taken me to some pretty phenomenal places that I may not have considered otherwise. When I am not traveling or running (Which admittedly is rare), I am hiking, biking, beaching, or exploring local craft breweries and wineries.
Thanks for taking the time to get to know me a little bit. Pop on in and say hi! I love to get to know our clients! I look forward to meeting you and your fur babies!
Director of Medical Services
I have been in the Veterinary field for over 15 years and 13 of those years have been spent here with my Animal House Ohana. I also spend half of my time helping to manage Dr. Hatts other practice, Pawsh Place, in California. I have always been very passionate about providing the best care for our patients and their families. I enjoy being part of leading our staff every day and hope I can continue to motivate and inspire them even through the toughest of days.
My husband Lawrence, my American Stafford Terrier Meli, my cat Lovely, my geriatric dachshund Frankie, and the newest addition to my family (human version) Eli definitely fill my life with amazing moments! God bless!
Aloha! My name is Deidra. I grew up on the Windward side of Oahu but I’ve been living in the North Shore for the last 12 years. I started working as a Veterinarian Technician Assistant in 2005. My primary interest is in critical care, anesthesia monitoring, and animal behavior. I’m the mother of 4 amazing Cats. In my free time I enjoy doing volunteer work at shelters and hiking in the Mountains.
